Module 10 Reflections ~I DID IT~

After completing all of the assignments and especially after completing my e-portfolio I am so amazed at how far I have come in such a short amount of time.

Check out my E-Portfolio

Being a teacher I was somewhat comfortable with google docs and and google suite however there are still so many new things that I learned. I realize now that I only knew a little about each of the items and this class helped me do a deep dive.

I am thrilled at my accomplishments and how much I have learned and how hard I have worked. I am happy to be done but I will definitely miss this class.

I know that my students will benefit from all of my learning. I am eager to take all of my skills into the classroom.

My favorite activity by far was my e-portfolio because this was my opportunity to see exactly how far I have come.

I also really enjoyed the computational activities and I will keep those in mind for my own classroom.

I know that there was a ton of work for this class and I at points was overwhelmed but I DID IT!

I will forever be grateful for this course in helping me get to know google suite even more than I thought I did.

Professor Rubal, thank you for all of the guidance and the opportunities to be creative and learn.

Now I am off to relax!

Module 9 Reflections

Wow this e-portfolio is more difficult than I thought it would be. I feel so overwhelmed and I don't know what assignments that I want to showcase. Having so much creative control although nice is not good when you have a tendency to overthink things.

My favorite activity was definitely making a game. I love how excited my students get whenever I have kahoot on the agenda and even for homework. There is something magical about learning while having fun.

I also liked using google forms. I knew that you could create forms and have created simple forms in the past but this was a great way to practice. I will definitely be using forms in my classroom. I am thinking I could even create a parent volunteer form instead of having a handout that I give parents. Forms will make my life easier and give me a quick snapshot and do the data analysis for me instead of me having to sort through it all.

I can't believe that this is the end of the class! Stay tuned for my final thoughts. Right now I am off to complete my portfolio

ALMOST TO THE FINISH LINE!!!!!!!!!!!

Module Reflection #8

This was such a fun module for me. I loved working with the spreadsheets. I was so happy to be able to create my own grade book. It was a lot of fun for me. As a teacher I used spreadsheets but not with all of the formulas that we used. I was very happy to learn some formulas and see the things that could be done with a simple statement.

I absolutely loved the video activity! I created a video about myself which I will now keep and show during my back-to-school time. This is such a great way for people to create interesting, fun, and professional videos. I am going to work on a video for my daughter from her birth until now. I think that will be fun for our friends and family to see.

Module #7 Review

Having a brother who is heard of hearing I was really looking forward to the closed captioning.WOW that was difficult! I always used to complain when my brother would be watching something and they would miss words or skip sentences. Now I understand why!

Overall this was a really fun module for me. I enjoyed the audio recording and I also really liked the screencasting! That is something I will use with my students. I love the thought of giving the students the opportunity to voice record their answers or screencast their projects.

Module Reflection #6

Creating my lesson presentation was so much fun! Being a teacher I have tried to come up with ways to keep my students engaged and I love creating presentations. I feel like I could have continued to tweak and change and add but that's just the teacher in me :)

When I first saw the module I thought there was so much work however once I started working it was done before I knew it. I guess that's what happens when it's fun activities.

Twitter was enjoyable and although I have not succumbed to the world of Twitter it was fun being able to see everyone's posts.

Module Reflections #5

The computational fluency activities were so much fun! I really enjoyed the "Sentence Frame" activity which was Computation Fluency #1. The hardest computational fluency activity for me was activity #3 although I do something similar in my classroom on the first day of school with regards to our classroom rules. I think the part that was most frustrating to me was the diagram portion of the words that I wrote.

I really have found these computational fluency activities fun and especially with the #2 *colors* I am going to use this in my classroom. I was thinking I could even change out color for another subject (favorite animal, food, etc)

Week 4 Reflection

This was a challenging module for me. I found that the lesson plan although I had it in my mind and I knew exactly what I wanted to do writing it out was quite challenging.

My favorite activity was the Graphic. I love being creative and this gave me an outlet for that creativity.  I am looking forward to creating my kahoot and my powerpoint for the lesson plan. I feel like this will be another outlet for me to have fun.

Once I have completed all of the lesson plan preparation I do plan on actually teaching my 3rd graders this lesson. I use ASL in the classroom all the time and I feel that to incorporate it into actual lessons and use technology will be fun for both the students and myself. I also was talking to my principal at the end of last year and I am planning on starting an afterschool language ASL course once I return to the classroom.
